Founded in 1874, the Florida Medical Association is a professional association dedicated to the service and assistance of doctors of medicine and doctors of osteopathic medicine in Florida. The FMA represents more than 19,000 physicians on issues of legislation and regulatory affairs, medical economics and education, public health, and ethical and legal issues. The organization advocates for physicians and their patients to promote the public health, ensure the highest standards of medical practice, and enhance the quality and availability of health care in the Sunshine State.
The American Board of Plastic Surgery
The Mission Statement of The American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc. is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification and maintenance of certification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists.
The American Society of Plastic Surgery
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) is the largest plastic surgery specialty organization in the world. Founded in 1931, the Society is composed of more than 7,000 physician members and represents more than 94 percent of all board-certified plastic surgeons in the United States who perform cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.
